Welcome to the fifth video installment of my six-part series on how to start a YouTube channel for your business. We’re diving deep into how to take your long-form YouTube videos and turn them into content for every other platform you’re already on. If you want to streamline your content creation process, save time, and show up more consistently, this is the strategy that will change everything! Keep reading to learn all about my YouTube repurposing system!

Why Repurposing YouTube Content Matters

If you’re a business owner creating YouTube videos, you’re already investing time and energy into making value-packed content. But if that content stays on YouTube only, you’re leaving a ton of visibility on the table. Repurposing lets you stretch that investment across platforms, so you don’t have to start from scratch constantly.

And let’s be honest — the pressure to create something brand new for every single platform every single week? It’s exhausting. That’s why I’m such a big believer in making one long-form video per week. Then, you can turn it into multiple types of content that feel native to wherever you’re showing up online.

It all starts with your YouTube video. This approach not only saves you time but helps build your credibility and trust with your audience across multiple platforms.

My Personal Story With Repurposing

Back when I was a photographer, I saw firsthand how showing up in more places helped clients find me. It wasn’t because I told them I was the best — it was because I was everywhere. I became the obvious choice.

That’s the power of visibility and consistency. Your audience starts to see you as the go-to person — not because you said so, but because your content keeps showing up in their feed, their search results, and their inbox.

More recently, I realized I had drifted away from this strategy. After taking a break from filming new videos due to health and family reasons, I fell into the mindset of having to create something brand new for every platform. But guess what? That’s not even what I teach. So I went back to basics. Now, I’m showing up more consistently again, using the repurposing strategy I’m sharing with you today.

The Content Stacking System

Let’s talk logistics. I call my repurposing method the content stacking system, and it’s how I take one weekly YouTube video and repurpose it across my platforms. Here’s a peek at what this looks like:

  • Weekly Long Form Video: I film one high-quality YouTube video per week. This is the core content everything else is built from.

  • SEO-Optimized Blog Post: My team turns the video transcript into a blog post (like the one you’re reading now), which goes up on my site with keywords, headings, and links optimized for search.

  • Email Newsletter: Each video gets its own email sent out to my list, highlighting why it’s valuable and encouraging them to click and watch.

  • Instagram Content: We create Instagram reels using short clips from the video, share behind-the-scenes or takeaways in stories, and repurpose highlights for feed posts.

  • Pinterest Pins: Using visuals from the blog post or video, we create pins that link back to the blog or video.

  • YouTube Shorts and More: Clips from the full video also get reused as YouTube Shorts, which are cross-posted to Reels and Stories.

All of this content is derived from just one YouTube video — and most of it isn’t even done by me.

Yes, You Can Get Help (Even With a Small Team)

The beauty of this system is that once the video is filmed, nearly everything else can be delegated. For example, my team member Maggie spends about one hour per week repurposing a video into all these different formats. That’s it.

If you only have one assistant, they can absolutely help with editing, scheduling, blog writing, Pinterest pins, or even designing graphics for IG stories. And since the original content comes from your voice and your ideas, everything still sounds and feels like you.

It’s completely possible to maintain a genuine, on-brand presence — even with support.

Tools to Make It Even Faster

Want to take it a step further? I’ve created custom AI assistants using ChatGPT that my team uses to repurpose content even faster. Here’s what they do:

  1. Email Assistant: Turns a transcript into a newsletter that sets up the topic and invites readers to watch the video.

  2. Short Form Video Generator: Extracts the best lines from your long form video and gives you caption ideas for Reels and TikToks.

  3. Blog Post Writer: Converts your transcript into an SEO-optimized blog post in just a few minutes.

These tools are built to save time and help you stay consistent — even if you’re a one-woman show or have limited help.

Why This Changes Everything

The goal here isn’t just to save time (though it definitely does that). It’s to help you build a YouTube repurposing system that consistently grows your visibility — without burning out. As a business owner, you don’t have time to spend hours every week creating content from scratch.

This system lets you step into your role as the visionary and CEO. And you can do it without sacrificing the power of showing up online. Your time is valuable. And this strategy helps you make the most of it.

Even if your audience is small right now, repurposing your YouTube videos ensures that they’re hearing from you again and again — wherever they hang out online. You’ll show up more often, stay top of mind, and build trust faster.

Ready to Repurpose?

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed trying to keep up with content creation for every platform, I hope my YouTube repurposing system encourages you that it doesn’t have to be that hard. Repurposing just one YouTube video a week can completely transform how you show up online — and help your business grow without you burning out.

If you want more support with creating your YouTube channel and learning how to do this repurposing system for yourself, check out YouTube for Business — my program that walks you through exactly how to make this work with the time you have.

You’ve got this — and I’m cheering for you every step of the way.
